We hope you were following along on Twitter as 90 plus civic and business leaders from the Twin Cities visited Baltimore from the 16th to 18th. From sun-up to well past sun-down our group toured neighborhoods, met with local leaders, and explored how Baltimore is dealing with the issues that emerged from the Freddie Gray incident of 2015. We met a city that recognized that years of structural racism, embedded many times in government policies, made it harder and harder for individuals to succeed and move out of poverty. We met committed neighborhood leaders who were amazing advocates for their colleagues, their city, and their region. And we met each other.
The InterCity Leadership Visit is a great way to not only visit a city, but it is also an incredible way to meet your colleagues from the Twin Cities and build the trust and creditability we need to have the difficult conversations necessary to move us forward. Will you join us next year? The 2017 trip will be announced in March of next year, city to be determined, and we hope you can be part of this fantastic experience.
