The Minneapolis Workplace Regulation Partnership Group approved a draft report of their findings on earned sick and safe time on Tuesday, March 14. There were 13 votes in favor, one opposed and one abstention. You can view the draft here. At the meeting, language was suggested to recommend a six month delay between enactment and implementation but that language is not reflected in the draft posted to the Minneapolis Workplace Regulation Partnership Group’s website at the time of this posting. Steve Cramer from the Minneapolis Downtown Council submitted a Minority Report – it can be viewed here. The Group will be presenting the report on Wednesday, March 16 at 10:00 AM at the Minneapolis Committee of the Whole meeting. The intent is for the report to be passed and sent to the Minneapolis City Council to be heard on Friday, March 18. We will keep you updated on the outcome of the Minneapolis meetings and potential ordinance.
