Paul/East East Metro area is the best place to live
and work. The area has a wealth of diverse businesses,
from manufacturing to some of the most innovative in
medical technology, the area has the ability to employ
any skill level.
Job Vacancies
Job vacancies fell 9.4 percent from one
year ago, to 55,400 during fourth quarter 2006. Over
the year declines were largest in installation,
maintenance & repair, food preparation & serving,
production, personal care & services, and
construction & extraction occupations. By industry
sector the largest decreases were in Construction,
Healthcare and Public Administration.

Where is the need?
The strongest
demand for workers based on the hiring demand index
and the number of vacancies was found in healthcare
support, healthcare practitioners & technical,
business & financial operations, computer &
mathematical, and arts, design, entertainment &
media occupations.

Wages
Minnesota,
Colorado and Virginia led the nation in personal
income growth from the first quarter of 2000 to the
first quarter of 2001. In Minnesota, earnings in
government and finance, insurance and real estate
contributed substantially to the 8.1 percent increase.
