I’d like to depart from tradition, as befitting your Saint Paul Area Chamber, and instead offer a slightly different summation and prediction. So….
Dear Chamber members.
Well, 2014 was a challenging year. Okay, it was more than challenging. We added staff, increased our advocacy impact, put on over 120 events (for the third year in a row!), had speakers ranging from national leaders to local celebrities, launched East Metro Strong, a regional advocacy effort to build transit connections in the East Metro, and, not to be too cute about it, had a great year serving our members.
We understand that being a member organization is about serving our members, each and every day. Membership organizations rely on members for, well candidly, everything, and in turn we need to be respectful that our members come first in our efforts. I’m proud of this organization and incredibly proud of our team for living that focus seven days a week, year around. What’s that? There are only five business days in a week? Then you probably haven’t been following us on social media, where our running assessment of our members and the region goes on around the clock, 24 by 7.
2015 will see more of the same. We commit to you that our efforts will not plateau. We will continue to find ways to accelerate your success. That might be advocacy; it might be our efforts on the future workforce. But we will not stand still. You will see your chamber engaged in issues that matter to the business community anywhere we see the need to advance business success in a tough environment. We will be relentless, we won’t stop, and we won’t be afraid of making sure that the voice of economic success, your voice, is heard at all levels.
We wish you a fantastic 2015. We thank you for your continued investment in this chamber and we promise, you will see your investment return dividends to you, to this region, and to this state.
