Blue Cross employee volunteers support four giving gardens, located in Eagan and Greater Minnesota. Ecolab sponsors both suburban and urban (roof top!) giving gardens that support the Neighborhood House food shelf. The Ecolab Giving Gardens (EGG)s, as they are affectionately known) have become a key community involvement program for Ecolab volunteers.
Susan Schuster, Blue Cross, and Shannon Toren, Ecolab, shared their experiences April 22 with the SPRCPH/SPACC Worksite Wellness Collaborative. Several members have expressed interest in starting a worksite giving garden this year.
The Twin Cities Corporate Giving Garden Network, founded in 2010 at Blue Cross, provides inspiration and support to member companies by hosting two Garden Summits a year, spring and fall. Interested in getting started this year? Employers can download a Getting Started Fact Sheet.
