This year the Saint Paul Port Authority is going to the legislature for bonding dollars for the Port Development Assistance Program. The Program is used for all of Minnesota’s ports to upgrade current infrastructure and expand port capacity. Did you know that the Saint Paul port sees approximately 5.5 million tons of commodities pass through the river terminals? Out of the chief commodities the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated the value of Minnesota’s corn and soybean crops at $8 billion. Contact your legislators today and tell them the importance of including the $10 million request for the Port Development Assistance Program to keep Saint Paul’s port (and the ports of Duluth, Red Wing, and Winona) in top shape.
