Cookie Cart Cookie Cart provides lasting and meaningful work, life, and leadership skills to teens ages 15 to 17 through experience and training in an urban nonprofit bakery.
As a first job, teens earn while they learn at Cookie Cart. This provides an important economic benefit to families and the neighborhood. On-the-job training is paired with workshops on communication skills, customer service, conflict resolution and work success skills. Through both classes and bakery experience teens are building and strengthening the skills and assets necessary for a strong and successful career path.
With the support and embrace of the Saint Paul community, Cookie Cart opened their second location on Saint Paul’s East Side on Payne Avenue in May, and the first 15 of 50 teens were hired. In 2019, Cookie Cart will employ and engage 100 Saint Paul teens in 15,000 hours of employment and training, in addition to 200 youth employed in North Minneapolis.
