Workforce Development. Approach this work from two sides.
Partner on work already being done to activate untapped potential at all levels;
Connect with high schools to introduce more students to potential career path opportunities;
Work with the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association on implementing the Youth Skills Training Program;
Provide resources to the worker looking for new career opportunities;
Engage Professionals of Color and create connections with grassroots workforce organizations to help employers resource the talent they need; and
Support federal immigration policy as it pertains to the attraction of professionals to our market.
Partner with the City of Saint Paul and its Right Track Program for internships;
Improve employer readiness to hire the workforce of today and tomorrow through resources and programming;
Promote technical training including certificate and degree programs;
Support mentorships and dual training opportunities.
K-12 Engagement. Engage with the public school systems across the region to formulate and support work and policies to close the opportunity gap and improve student performance. Target specifically the career pathway exploration and training program opportunities for high schoolers.
